Museum Organization

The Eastern Oregon Museum was founded in 1959 to preserve the memory and spirit of the men and women who prospected, homesteaded, and eventually settled in Northeastern Oregon. The Museum's mission is to share this rich pioneer history with present and future generations.

The Museum operates as a non-profit corporation and is staffed entirely by volunteers from the Baker Valley Community. A board of directors is selected from these volunteers to oversee the management and development of the Eastern Oregon Museum. The board of directors meets twice a year and officers are elected from its membership. Current officers are as follows:

The Eastern Oregon Museum is an affiliate member of the Oregon Historical Society and is eligible to receive charitable donations that qualify for matching tax deductible gifts to the Oregon Cultural Trust.

Our thanks and appreciation are extended to the board of directors and volunteers who have unselfishly given their time and support in making the Museum into a wonderful place to explore Eastern Oregon's History.
